Non-USAC Payments

DCIA

Debt Collection Improvement Act (DCIA) has the authority to levy additional collection charges, penalties, and interest on balances owed. USAC cannot accept payments on behalf of the Treasury for these balances.

If a company receives an invoice from the Treasury for any balances owed, the payment must be made payable to the Treasury and mailed to the address on the Treasury’s invoice.

United States Treasury – Other Debt

The United States Treasury (US Treasury) may send debts to an outside collection agency for further actions. USAC has no connection with collection agencies and cannot make any calls on your behalf.

If a company receives an invoice from the Treasury or one of their outside collection agencies for a balance owed, the payment must be made payable to the Treasury or the outside collection agency and mailed to the address on the Treasury’s or other collection agency’s invoice.

FCC

The FCC has the authority to levy additional collection charges, penalties, and interest on balances owed. USAC cannot accept payments on behalf of the FCC for these balances.

If a company receives an invoice from the FCC for a balance owed, the payment must be made payable to the FCC and mailed to the address on the FCC’s invoice.

Individual State Universal Service Payments

Some states run their own state universal service program. This is not part of the universal service support that is overseen by the FCC and administered by USAC.

Visit the states’ regulatory commission website for information about state universal service programs.
